Jamon, a 6 year old English Bulldog, was presented to us for examiniation for injuries received in a Pit Bull attack. Examination revealed a fracture to the right lower mandible(lower jaw). The large tooth at that location(canine tooth) was missing along with a portion of the bone. Despite the severity of the fracture, Jamon was in good physical shape with a few other minor injuries. Surgical repair was neccessary and Jamon was scheduled for surgery with Dr. Turner. The repair consisted of repositioning the jaw, clamping it in place and placing 2 large screws from one side of the jaw to the other. The large defect im his gum from the missing tooth was also repaired by a gingival flap.
The srugery was performed by Dr. Turner. Dr. Turner is a local veterinarian that owns a mobile veterinary surgical practice. We frequently utilize Dr. Turners services at this clinic. This allows us to offer our clients surgical procedures that we would not normally
perform.
